Rachel Weiss, the cartoonist at the Northwestern University student paper, has hit a bull's eye with her response to Butz's comments. And she has done so in the best tradition of The Great Dictator and The Producers - irony and humor.
Bravo.

The proper way to handle Butz is to have him fired.
What would Northwestern do to a Professor who praised the KKK and preached slavery was a wonderful thing for African Americans because it civilized them.
The bigot would be fired on the spot. Why is Butz's bigotry any different. Academics should be the first to demand he be terminated.
Academic freedom doesn't include the freedom to hate or the freedom to lie.
