Williamson was Denying in 1989

Edited on Thursday, 2/5 8:15 a.m.

According to the Forward, in 1989 Williamson said the following when hegave a speech at Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes church in Sherbrooke, Canada,

There was not one Jew killed in the gas chambers. It was all lies, lies, lies. The Jews created the Holocaust so we would prostrate ourselves on our knees before them and approve of their new State of Israel.
And no one in the Vatican knew????

[After reading the two in depth comments about the way in which the Vatican functions, about which I blogged earlier today, I have come to believe that they indeed might not have known.
Some may think this "exonerates" the Vatican. In some way it does. On the other hand it demonstrates how out of touch the institution is...]

According to the Toronto Star, the president of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, archbishop James Hayes of Halifax, had then sent a telegram to the Canadian Jewish Congress, condeming Williamson's anti-jewish discourse, and saying that Williamson had been "expelled" from the catholic church.

Dear Prof. Lipstadt,
I found the post below on a Catholic blog (http://romancatholicblog.typepad.com/roman_catholic_blog/2007/11/society-of-st-p.html). This guy says "twenty years ago." That would make it two years later that Williamson made these remarks in 1989 in Quebec. Notice the blogger says he noticed the Protocols of The Elders of Zion being sold from "their bookstore."

'I met him almost twenty years ago while visiting the SSPX Seminary in Connecticut. While their liturgy was inspiring, I was horrified to find the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" on sale in their bookstore!

'There seems to be some latent "conspiratorial" lunacy in these "ultra-trads."'
