Here is the London Jewish Chronicle's report. While there is not much new in it, the report stresses that the event has lead to closer relations between the Jewish and Muslim students at Oxford.
"I am sure that this experience will result in us co-operating in the fight against racism. We may have differences over politics but, at the end of the day, we have a lot in common.”
How can Muslims, whose "holy book" overtly proscribes friendship with Jews and Christians, encourages its religious to kill Jews hiding behind ever tree, designates (as did the Nazis) Jews as the descendents of swine and monkeys, fight against racism? What is it, the year 2007, and Western academics (forget their European counterparts) still do not have to the courage nor the honesty to judge this religion [Islam] as insalubrious and malefic. It is yet another example of those who subjugate themselves to academic etiquette assessing Islam's egregious cultural traditions and shibboleths, irregardless of their historically violent manifestations, as subrogative of the dignity and welfare of those, namely the Jewish people, whom its religious tenets decry.
"differences over politics"
This statement, coming from a Muslim, is by reason of the shibboleths of his religion minacious, even though he or she may not have intended it so. Those "differences" exist because of Islam's pronounced hatred of the Jews and its prescribed intolerance of other religious, expecially Jews and Christians.
Last night my wife and I were in Toronto to protest the presence there of Finkelstein (I'm sure you've all heard of him). There were Muslims there shouting obscenities at us and our Jewish friends. Also the Muslim students were handing out pamphlets in favour of releasing an "innocent" Muslim arrested and incarcerated by Canadian authorities on suspicion of terrorism. I say this to point out the fact that Islam's politics will never abide Western intolerance of Islam's terrorism. Jews are asked to tolerate and even intellectually digest the religion of Islam's hateful denigrations of both Jewish existence in Israel and Judaism itself while, simultaneously, Islam and its advocates blame the entire Western world, but mostly Israel and her "Jewish character" for all the evils of Islamic terrorism.
"Arab (read Muslim*) recognition of Israel's Jewish nature must have top diplomatic priority. Until the Palestinians formally accept Zionsim, then follow-up by ceasing all their various strategies to eliminate Israel, negotiations should be halted and not restarted. Until then, there is nothing to talk about." -Daniel Pipes
"A disease which, fed by opportunism and conformism, hence cowardice, leads to more deaths than cancer. It is a disease which unlike cancer is contagious and strikes all those who are along its road. The good and the bad. The intelligent and the stupid. The honest and the dishonest." -Oriana Fallaci
Bellicose as I am, I cannot help but ask, What is your respose, Mr. Jacobs? Or perhaps you're too timid to make one.
Believe me, you needn't urge Prof. Lipstadt to say what she thinks. She is quite capable and willing to do so all on her own. The last time someone challenged her courage, he was exposed as the anti-Jewish biggot that he is, namely David Irving.
So, again I ask, what is your response? I would really like to like to read it. I'm amused by the fact that you challenge Dr. Lipstadt to give her estimation of my post, yet you refrain from doing so yourself. I'm thinking you're a bit timid. You're definitely not "bellicose," that's for sure.
