Armenian Genocide: Statement by Scholars

A few years ago, in the face of the Turkish government's efforts to set up chairs at American universities -- such as it did at Princeton for Heath Lowry -- a group of scholars signed a statement regarding the Armenian genocide.

Chilling it is to see what happens when historical denial, especially genocide denial, becomes a key element of government policy that the penal system, the judicial system, and diplomatic corps are all drawn in to enforce it.

I'm not sure what upsets me more .. the genocide denial or the fact that there are US p.r. firms willing to take money to promote genocide denial.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, given that Khartoum has a Washington lobbyist.
